Voices of Home Poetry Project

Do you write poetry or short stories?

Do you make art or take photography?

We are looking for submissions from Wilkes County residents to bind into a book.

If you or someone you know are interested, please be on the lookout for how to submit!

Once finished, a portion of the proceeds will be used to assist literacy efforts in Wilkes!

Types of Submissions

  • Poems

    Poems can be about anything and be in any format! We would even love for handwritten submission!

  • Short Stories

    Shorts stories can be about anything too! We do ask that you limit your story to 500 words.

  • Art or Photography

    We would love to include scans of paintings, drawings, or other pieces of art. Photography will also be accepted! Space will be limited for visual art.

Requirements

Must be a resident or have been a resident of Wilkes County, North Carolina.

Submitted work must be your own and not plagiarized, stolen, or otherwise copied from someone else.

Submitted work must be clean and can be read/viewed by all ages. (We plan to have other editions where the writing can be more adult.)

No commission will be received from this project or sales of the printed book.

If more than one piece of work is submitted, not all submissions may be included.

You are still able to publish your work in other books, blogs, websites, social media, or any other publishing organization.
